Newbies guide to the AVN Expo - By ZombieGirl
If you are planning to go to Internext Vegas this year and will be there a couple extra days prior to the show then it's a good time to check out the Adult Entertainment Expo if you've never done that. "But it's a fan show" you say?? Use it for other opportunies as a webmaster! If you have any pornstar traffic then why not go and get pics of all the pornstars & put them on your blog/site? Make up signs that they can hold while you take a pic, like a fansign! Get tons of free swag (trust me there is a LOT) and use them as contest giveaways on your sites. Talk to people there to see how the other side does business, you never know what new ideas could come of it...
The ticket price is $60 /day this year or $160 for a 3 day pass, which you can buy online on the site. The AVN Awards will be on Sat night, Jan 13th at the Mandalay Bay all the way down the south end of the strip. I expect the EXPO will be off tha hook again, since every year it just gets bigger & badder where all the big name companies get to show off how well they're doing (or at least give the image of success) with HUGE booths, lots of girls signing posters & giveaways of free DVD's, T-shirt & promos, etc. Last year there were quite a few asian girls signing including Mika Tan, Lucy Lee, Roxy Jezel & Tera to name just a few. Since my old blog got hacked & posts deleted I will post POINTERS FOR THE AEE EXPO again:
If this is your first trip here are some easy tips to get ready:
1. DO NOT GO ON THE LAST DAY! I said that before because on previous years the AVN awards happened on the night before the last day, BUT this year they are doing the awards on the last night. The performers will have been partying for 3 days previous to this so they will be either tired or absent from the booths. Even if the girls are at the booth on the last day, they will have to leave it early to start getting ready for the AVN Awards show.
2. Wear comfortable shoes & light clothing because you will do a lot of walking. It will be VERY FUCKING CROWDED in there & get very hot so you don't want to be sweating your ass off. Bring some bottled water & snacks because the concession stand is over priced & a ripoff!
3. Bring some rubber bands & maybe a plastic portfolio case to put your signed posters in. Rubber bands to roll up the huge posters & the plastic case so your 8X10's don't get squished & torn in your grab bag.
4. A camera & don't forget to charge those batteries & bring extra batteries as well! Just a friendly reminder since it's easy 2 forget the small details.
5. BRING CASH!!! There will be some goods like DVD's, Videos, toys, sold at the booths & they are not equipped with Interac so bring some small bills in case you see a good deal on DVD's. If you buy a DVD don't hesitate to ask your favorite pornstar to sign it as well.
6. If you have a favorite pornstar don't hesitate to print out pictures of them at home & then bring the posters to the show to get them signed. Be polite about it, but don't make them sign 100 things. Maybe even wear a blank white T-shirt so they can autograph that too & you will have a unique memorabilia of your first REAL "porn" convention.
